Biography - Samuel Young

Samuel H. YOUNG, farmer, P. O. Raymond, was born in Clermont County, Ohio, December 12, 1852, son of Orson and Sarah (HALL) YOUNG, he a farmer and mechanic, born in New York State; she a native of Ireland - both of whom are living, in the township of Harvel, Montgomery County, this State; they are the parents of six children, Samuel H. being the second, who, like his father, is a farmer. Our subject married, in Montgomery County, December 31, 1871, Mary Amanda GRUMMON, born in Madison County May 29, 1857, daughter of John L. GRUMMON, of St. Clair County, Ill., from which union have been born four children - John O., Samuel L., S. Catharine and Irene; Minnie died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. YOUNG are members of the Methodist Church, and he is a Greenbacker in politics.
